American Airlines’ parent AMR Corp. today asked a bankruptcy court judge for a 30-day extension to file its plan to exit bankruptcy reorganization.

American has requested that its so-called exclusive period be extended from Dec. 28 to Jan. 28, according to a court document jointly filed today by the airline and its unsecured creditors committee.
